sorry about the waiver in my voice and
slight shake in my hand which makes paper
rustle, too much coffee before I came, but
why lie to you? indeed, you see me
as a pane of glass up here, and equally
fragile, bathed in a pool of lukewarm light

started with something funny, a tension
breaker, that line about my fully hoisted sail
particularly well received, as if you know even
now my sail billows, urgently pulling me along

but salty winds are far removed from this
place and rust crackles off me, scatters
on the wooden floor, rustles under feet
as autumn leaves begging to be burned
in a final fire-rite ce

Hi! Long time no see ... thanks for the comments. You know, I had to stand there for quite some time before the clouds moved into just the right spot so I'm glad you liked the sky ... looks like a sore neck was worth it after all!
